The importance of conducting sound investigations into allegations of sexual harassment has recently been highlighted by revelations within the public and private sectors that has lead to intense media attention and scrutiny of the conduct of the investigations.

Our presenters will explore the practical and legal challenges of conducting these investigations and provide hints and tips for practitioners either conducting or supervising these investigations.

The two experienced investigators, who will be the presenters for this webinar are:

Janice McLeay - Principal - Janice McLeay Consulting

Janice has extensive experience and expertise in grievance handling, conflict coaching, mediation, facilitation, training, group work and workplace investigations.

Janice is an accredited Mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System. She obtained her Master of Dispute Resolution (Hons) at the University of Technology Sydney, winning the NSW Bar Association Prize for Dispute Resolution in 1997.

Since retiring as a Commissioner with the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW, Janice went into private practice as a dispute resolution specialist, utilising her background in education, community welfare, local government, health and industrial relations.

Anna Perigo - Barrister - Frederick Jordan Chambers

BEc, GradDip (Employment Relations), DipL LPAB

Admitted as a Barrister in NSW in 2009

Called to the Bar in 2009, Anna specialises in employment and industrial law, discrimination law and administrative law.

She appears in cases for clients in Federal and State courts and industrial tribunals, including the Federal Circuit Court, the Federal Court of Australia, the Fair Work Commission and Industrial Relations Commission of New South Wales, and the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

The depth of her litigation practice has seen Anna appear in matters at first instance and on appeal, and in interlocutory hearings. She regularly appears both led and unled in a broad range of employment matters, including proceedings involving discrimination claims, enterprise agreements, award making and interpretation, contraventions and unfair dismissals.
