Professor Marian Baird – University of Sydney – COVID-19 in Australia: The Gender Agenda. Marian will discuss the scale and history of pandemics and recessions in Australia and their effect on women





Dr Mihajla Gavin – University of Technology – Emerging from COVID-19: Women, Value and Voice. Mihajla will discuss the Impacts of COVID-19 in female-dominated professions, the value of care and caring professions and spotlight on emerging policies




Sarah Gardner - Big Steps Deputy Director and Samira Shire – Early Childhood Teacher, Big Steps Leader and UWU Delegate - United Workers Union – Essential but still undervalued – perspectives from early childhood educators on the frontline of the pandemic. Sarah and Samira will discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic reignited a crucial debate about the essential role and value of early education, and how early childhood educators voices continue to be absent from that debate. It’s time for that to change.
